Hi! I'm Maggie Johnson and I tried a new Christmas cookie out of The Better Homes and Gardens Junior Cookbook. These candies are really good and have lots of sugar in them. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes and makes about 30 candies.
Here's the recipe!
4 cups confectioners' sugar
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
Green food coloring
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
Assorted topping like crushed peppermint(optional)
1. Sift confectioners' sugar into a bowl.
2. Mix milk and flavoring in an electric mixer. Then stir in food coloring.
3. Mix in the sugar gradually. It might look like there's too much sugar, but mix it all in. You'll need it! You might need to mix the mixture with your hands as it gets very crumbly.
4. Turn mixture onto wax or parchment paper. Roll into 1 inch balls. Dip into toppings it using. Then press the tops of each with a fork.
5. Let sit at least 30 minutes. Then enjoy!

The finished product!

We made some with red food coloring and dipped them in crushed peppermints. Delicious!
I was fortunate to stop in at your house and taste these delicious cookies. Good job, Maggie! Grandma C.
